Dear KSEA Members,
With great pleasure, we invite you to participate in the 37th annual US-Korea Conference (UKIS 2024), scheduled to take place from August 21 to 24, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in California, USA. This renowned conference is a collaborative effort between the Korean American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA), the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST), and the Korea-U.S. Science Cooperation Center (KUSCO)/National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF). Under the overarching theme, “The Next Era of Science, Technology, and Entrepreneurship with Artificial Intelligence,” UKIS 2024 promises to delve into the transformative influence of AI across diverse scientific domains, spanning academia, industry, and beyond. Furthermore, our agenda includes a dedicated networking session designed to facilitate interdisciplinary interactions, fostering unity and collaboration among participants transcending generations and fields.
This year’s conference offers a unique opportunity for engagement with leading industry experts and academic scholars, each offering distinct insights into the implications and applications of science and technologies. With an anticipated attendance of over 1,000 scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, government officials, corporate executives, and policymakers, UKIS 2024 is a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and expertise.

Technical Group Symposiums:
On behalf of the UKIS 2024 Program Committee and our organizing/sponsoring entities, we cordially invite you to participate in the UKIS 2024 Technical Group Symposiums. These symposiums offer a platform for presenting and discussing significant research findings, R&D trends, and the future prospects of sciences and technologies across the following technical groups:
- A-1. Physics (PHY)
- A-2. Chemistry (CHM)
- A-3. Mathematics, Geology, Meteorology, Statistics (MAS)
- B-1. Medical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Education (MPS)

We invite you to submit a one-page paper for presentation at the Technical Group Symposium of your choice. The one-page paper template is available on the UKIS 2024 website (https://ukc.ksea.org/), with paper submissions set to commence on March 25, 2024. During submission, please specify the technical group (A-1 to D-1) where you wish to be considered for an oral or poster presentation. All papers must be submitted in English and will undergo review and selection by the respective Technical Group Symposium Chairs. Accepted papers will be published in the electronic version of the UKIS 2024 Proceedings.

Discount & Travel Support
UKIS Student, Postdoc, and FIRE Lodging Support Application
UKIS2024 supports student/post-doc oral/poster presenters/FIRE professional presenters during the UKIS2024. When you receive an acceptance email from the UKIS2024, we will share the link to apply for financial support. The financial support is for a limited number of participants; please submit your paper as soon as possible and receive financial support from UKIS2024.

to student/post-doc oral/poster presenters/FIRE professional presenter
*Lodging support application and resume are due online by 6/28/2024.
**Notifications of up to 120 awardees will be sent by 7/10/2024.
*** If you seek travel support, please await further notifications. You will have the opportunity to apply for and receive room support, which will be provided only to selected candidates. To ensure your accommodation, you are advised to make your own reservation, which can be canceled if necessary.
1. Applicant Eligibility:
- Graduate Students
- Post-docs
- Industry professionals who apply to FIRE
2. Application Requirements:
- Apply the FIRE application or through the UKIS2024 website when you submit your paper to a Symposium.
- Resume or CV (a template will be provided)
- Unofficial transcript (for students)
3. Recipient Requirements:
- Be an oral or poster presenter. (Technical or research papers must be submitted to a Symposium but will still be eligible for support.)
- Only career or leadership topics are accepted into FIRE (all other topics will be rejected.)
- Be a paid KSEA member
- Attend all 3 plenary sessions (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday)
- Any missed attendance and presentation may result in partial travel reimbursement.
- If you receive travel reimbursement from any institution, you are not eligible for UKIS travel support.
4. Recipient Award:
- Registration discount: $ 100 ( NOT ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS, Applies to all presenters regardless of awardee selection)
- Lodging support: Up to 3 nights of lodging (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), share the hotel room (2 participants/room) or 50% of the room cost (If you wish not to share a room and use the room by yourself, please let us know; the KSEA will only support the half of the hotel room charge (room rate cannot exceed $129/per night plus tax and service charge)
- Up to $400 travel support
- Only Support 1 meal for Friday Dinner
